At Jacqueline’s loft we handle all your sail repair and boat canvas needs including boat cushions, dodgers, and custom covers of all kinds. We fully inspect your sails and do traditional time-honoured handwork and machine repairs. We also make Canadian flags and other merchandise.

Boat Canvas
At Jacqueline’s we custom make:
Dodgers • bimini tops • sail bags • deck storage bags • spinnaker turtles • furling sail socks • sheet bags • sail covers • wheel covers • winch covers • rail covers • hatch covers • boat covers • kayak covers • and any other custom cover you can imagine!
We also make boat interior and exterior cushions, curtains, pillows, and canvas storage bags.
We use Sunbrella furniture and marine fabrics which are available in a fantastic array of colour and pattern options, and use acrylic and long-lasting polyester thread. We insist on Sunbrella fabrics because of its longevity, durability, protection from the sun (Sunbrella fabrics carry the Skin Cancer Foundation's Seal of Recommendation), and mildew resistance. Our custom made covers include anti chafe patches and leather details.
We also recommend and use:
- 1” Stainless Steel (Boat Rail) tubing and fittings
- “YKK Zippers”, which are strong, lights and corrosion resistant
- Stainless steel or nickel plated grommets, fasteners and fittings

Fabrics
- Sunbrella Plus; Sunbrella Plus offers superior water resistance by utilizing a durable polyurethane undercoating.
- Sunbrella Supreme; Supreme is a unique combination of a Sunbrella marine canvas outer layer and a flocked Sunbrella interior layer, with a waterproof barrier layer in between.
Thread
- Polyester Threads: bonded polyester outdoor threads are perfect for sail and canvas work. They have high strength and stretch control, stability in sunlight (UVR), and resistance to needle heat, abrasion, saltwater and mildew.
- Tenara (Gore-tex); GORE™ TENARA® Sewing Thread is a long-lasting thread which enhances the life of the marine products in which it is used. The unique PTFE fiber construction of TENARA® thread extends the life of fabric seams and ultimately the products in which it is used. Not affected by exposure to UV sunlight, cleaning agents, saltwater and extreme weather.
Strataglass PVC Vinyl
- Strataglass is a pressed, polished and coated 30 & 40 gauge vinyl window materials. A polymer coating is used to seal in the plasticizers and also makes Strataglass more scratch resistant. The best window material for boaters on the market. Minus 23 degrees Celsius cold crack.
